Cs-137 source requires no license. The Multi-Dosimeter
Checkers consist of a plastic cylinder containing six holes
surrounding a central, hermetically-sealed, 8 uCi Cs 137 source.

This device makes checking
dosimeters easy. Properly charged and zeroed dosimeters are
placed in the cylinder and exposed for the required period of time,
depending on their range. Typically, a six-hour exposure of a
properly-calibrated dosimeter will yield a reading from 25 to 35 mR.

Simply set your dose and/or rate alarm and insert the dosimeters in the
checker. A properly set dosimeter placed in the cylinder and exposed for
the proper period of time, depending on their setting will alarm.
Typically, a 18/20 hour exposure of a properly calibrated dosimeter will
yield a reading of approx. 100 mR.
